Episode 13: Gettin’ Weird with David Wiers

The legendary Fangraphs and Bullpen Banter writer David Wiers joins us for a nonsensical segment that only tangentially deals with baseball. This was fun.

Hums will be dinged, barns will be burned.

Ooh boy. Hold on to your hats. Some buck-wild baseball talk is coming up.

Episode 11: Anthony Rizzo Is A Real Corncob

Has it been two months? Jeez. You’ve moved on to other Cubs/Cardinals podcasts that occasionally take full episodes to talk about The Hunger Games. And that’s fine. But we’re going to keep going until you tell us not to.

Episode 10: Draftiness

Nick and I discuss our teams respective moves in the draft, a few things that have happened in the week since our last program, and Nick successfully answers a bit of Carlos Beltran trivia.

Also, Nick Offerman is our Great Nick of History because why the hell did it take this long, anyway?

Episode 9: Let’s Answer Some Fan Mail Finally

There’s a big problem you’ll notice with this episode right out of the gate. It was recorded Thursday night, so there’s no mention of the retirement of the most beloved Cub since Mark Grace or of the potentially catastrophic knee injury suffered by beloved fat person Lance Berkman. We would have had to predict the future to talk about these, and that’s not something we can do frequently.

If you’re OK with all of that, listen away. And if you like the snippet of the song at the beginning, go buy a Gaslight Anthem record or see a Gaslight Anthem show or support them in some way. Not only are they superb, but it becomes less likely they’ll sue me for jacking their tunes if I direct six million dollars of business their way.

Episode 8: The Lightning Round

Happy Mother’s Day! Even if you’re not a mother, you’re receiving the gift of a slightly shorter than usual podcast due to Nick S. getting pulled away by a Mother’s Day get-together.

Hamilton, Beltran, Marmol, LaRussa, etc. Mostly rambling. You know what to expect by now.

Episode 7: And there was much baseball.

All of the fame and fortune and babes that have come to us as a result of the podcast made us forget the most important thing: the podcast.

So we’re back now, and we ask that you listen to this. We talk about actual baseball games that actually count. That’s a first in podcast history, so this one will be worth money once you download it and burn it to a CD-R and give it to your Dad for half-Halloween.

The Cardinals are good, the Cubs are bad, and both teams have first base prospects who are slaughtering baseballs.
